Used for a minnkota pd70 trolling motorFit perfectly with existing trolling motor!7 pin to 6 pin works wellConsidering the original has been degrading for two years, and I have been working around how to use what is left, the new pedal is great. A local dealer sprayed it out with WD40, but that only lasted one use. I had to go on a MinnKota forum to find out that their pedals are subject to failure. For what these trolling motors cost, this is a disappointment on MinnKota's part. Amazon supplier beat the MinnKota parts store price by a large margin. It came in a MinnKota labelled plastic carton, so it is not a knockoff.. The new pedal works, and the first thing I notice was the propulsion motor and steering motor sound much smoother and quieter, and the deep cycle battery barely changed the charge after a full morning of heavy use steering my 25 ft. pontoon.. Apparently there was a lot of voltage loss through the bad contacts in the old pedal. Back to happy fishing again!I finally replaced my original foot pedal even though intended replacing a long time ago. The new one was the right replacement model and it made trolling so much easier because I didn't have to stomp on the buttons to get it to work. Amazon had the best price of the several sources I looked at. The ratings on this product indicate I should probably buy another one as a backup. I would recommend this product as a replacement but I would not buy the trolling motor that it operates again for a variety of reasons. My last foot pedal was so intermittently working, that I could barely control the boat. I took it completely apart and examined it to the best of my ability (ASE certified technician by trade) but was unable to find what was wrong. I believe the problem lies within the circuitry and that it is non serviceable. (Intentionally, no doubt) I'm not dropping over 2 grand on a new troller with the new remote deploy system though. I'm just not. I'll keep buying foot pedals til they stop selling them.Received just in time before I was going to take a fishing trip. Replaced old pedal. Not sure I like the new speed adjustment dial, old style much larger and easier to operate. This is a replacement for one that failed to last through 20 half-days of use over a 2 year period. That is pathetic service. I have owned similar foot controls over the last 21 years for 3 different Minn Kota trolling motors on the same boat. These things are expensive, and simply do not hold up. I had to buy 3 foot controls in 5 years the last trolling motor I bought. To clarify, these were all the "microtouch" type of controls with electronic components and switches that simply do not hold up to reasonable use. Unfortunately, other trolling motor companies only offer push rod type controls, and I do not like those, so I figure I have to spend $75 every 2 years to replace the control. I have been using electric servo type trolling motor controls since 1970, and grew attached to their use. Update: Minn Kota sent me a free replacement, and ijt lasted about 4 months. Now I am buying another. Trying their "New Improved" model. We will see how this one lasts.
